SEMARNAT - EMISSIONS FROM MOBILE SOURCES

 

NOM-041-SEMARNAT-2006, That establishes the maximum permissible limits of emission of contaminant gases originating in the exhaust of automobiles in circulation that use gasoline as a combustible. (Published in the Official Daily of the Federation on March 6, 2007)

NOM-042-SEMARNAT-2003, That establishes the maximum permissible limits of emission of total or non methane hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and particulates originating from the exhaust of new automotive vehicles whose gross vehicle weight does not exceed 3,857 kilograms, that use gasoline, liquid petroleum gas, natural gas and diesel, as well as the emissions of evaporative hydrocarbons coming from the fuel system of said vehicles.  Published in the DOF Sept. 7, 2005.

NOM-044-SEMARNAT-2006, that establishes the maximum permissible limits of emissions of total hydrocarbons, non methane hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulates and opacity of smoke originating from the exhaust of new motors that use diesel as a combustible and that will be utilized for the propulsion of new automotive vehicles, as well as for new units with gross vehicular weight greater than 3,857 kilograms equipped with this type of motors. (published in the DOF on the 12th of October of 2006 – effective on December 12 of 2006)
NOM-045-SEMARNAT-2006, Environmental Protection. Vehicles in circulation that use diesel as a combustible. Maximum permissible limits of opacity, testing procedure, and technical characteristics of the measuring equipment. Published Sept. 13, 2007
NOM-050-SEMARNAT-1993 that establishes the maximum permissible limits of emissions of contaminating gases originating from the exhaust of automotive vehicles in circulation that use liquid petroleum gas, natural gas or other alternative fuels as fuel.
